A ROBUST call to arms went out across Teignbridge this week as communities across the district rallied to defeat the looming menace of coronavirus.

Covid-19 has become public enemy number one with towns and villages across the district declaring their battle plans to thwart the spread of the contagion and help many of the vulnerable and elderly in the direct firing line.

Newton Abbot’s town centre manager, Sally Henley, echoed the sentiments of many when she declared on Tuesday: ‘It’s time for everyone to show their best side. There is a lot of positive community spirit out there. We have to do our best, follow the guidelines – and do so to the letter.’
