DARTMOOR rescuers have joined the hunt for a junior doctor whose car was found abandoned at a Torquay coastal beauty spot on Friday.

Police say they are ‘extremely concerned’ for the welfare of 25-year-old Torbay Hospital doctor Rose Polge.

She is 5ft 2ins tall with brown eyes. She has long black hair either worn down or in a pony tail. Her car was discovered at Anstey’s Cove on Friday evening.

A major police search at the weekend, which included Dartmoor rescue volunteers, drew a blank.

A renewed appeal for information on her whereabouts was issued this morning (Monday).

Coastguards and the RNLI have also been scouring coastal areas of south Devon for the missing doctor. Searches were halted overnight because of dangerous conditions.

A police spokesman said: ‘Localised searches are due to continue today with support from the our force helicopter.’

He added: ‘We are extremely concerned for the welfare of Rose and are desperate to locate her.

‘Anyone who has seen Rose or who knows of her whereabouts is asked to call 999 quoting log number 529 of February 12.’
