A WOMAN found hanging at the back of her home in Kingsteignton over the weekend has been formally identified as 47-year-old divorcee Donna Davidson.

Mrs Davidson, who was unemployed, was discovered on a footpath behind her Priscott Way home by a woman out walking her dogs.

The grim find was made just after 7.30am on Saturday, an opening inquest in Plymouth heard this afternoon.

South Devon coroner Ian Arrow was told by his officer Lynn Halley that Torbay-born Mrs Davidson, nee Small, was dead at the scene which was attended by police and paramedics.

There were no suspicious circumstances.

The cause of death was given as asphyxia and suspension by ligature.

A full inquest is expected to be heard later in the year.
