Campaigners hoping to fight new housing developments in Bovey Tracey have won the backing of the town council.

On Monday members of the authority's planning committee voted to oppose three separate projects at either end of the town.

Plans to build six new homes at Brimley Grange were recommended for refusal, predominantly because of fears for protected trees on the site.

Bigger schemes for 34 homes and a retirement complex on fields next to the A382 Moretonhampstead Road also ran into trouble
