BECAUSE three members of the Teignbridge Council Executive on Tuesday were not domestic property landlords, they could not approve the council’s housing enforcement policy.
Four councillors were required to make a quorum, and the matter – which included recommendations for the levy of fines regarding The Redress Schemes for Letting Agency Work and Property Management Work, along with the Smoke Alarms and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (England) Regulations – was adjourned.
It will now be decided by a portfolio holder, who is not a domestic property landlord, before going out to member consultation and be subject to call-in.
