FOR the third year in succession, Teignbridge Council has frozen its council tax, and members have rejected any increase in their allowances.
Friday's budget meeting voted for the status quo – the Band D council tax rate will remain at £150.17 a year for district council services.
A one-off £186,000 of government funding has been used to offset an anticipated 2.5 per cent increase.
Leader Cllr Jeremy Christophers said they were also on target to achieve a freeze next year, partly thanks to their investment fund which would bring in £1 million by April 2013.
Cllr Christophers said they were bringing power to the people and delivering proper jobs and housing to local families and also protecting front line services.
