A DAMNING report on plans to shut Ashburton and Buckfastleigh Hospital has been sent to health chiefs by angry town councillors this week.

They pulled no punches in their denunciation of the 'flawed' public consultation document and process adopted by Torbay and Southern Devon Health and Care NHS Trust in its bid to re-locate ten inpatient beds at the hospital to the facility at Newton Abbot.

Ten other beds are being removed to the same venue from Bovey Tracey.

Ashburton town clerk John Germon, on behalf of the council, calls on the trust to abort its exercise and start again with suitable amendments made to all the 'shortcomings' cited.
