TRIBUTES were paid to Cllr Anna Klinkenberg at last night’s Bovey Tracey Town Council meeting.

Before the meeting started, town mayor Cllr Tony Allen said Cllr Klinkenberg had done a great deal for the town and would be remembered for her years of service to the community. He added the thoughts of the council were with her family at this time.

The council agreed that the Union Flag will fly at half-mast above the town hall on the day of her funeral, Friday, October 28.

Prayers for Cllr Klinkenberg and her family were said by Rev Kevin Hooke at the start of the meeting and, as a poignant gesture, in the crowded town hall one chair was left empty for the night.
