A NEWTON Abbot man has been remanded on unconditional bail charged with two offences of assault.
Peter Furneaux, 44, of Ashburton Road, is accused of assaulting a woman on August 12 2022 at Saltburn-by-Sea causing actual bodily harm.
He is also accused on August 3 2021 of assaulting another woman by beating, also at Saltburn-by Sea.
A further charge is that on August 12 2022 at Middlesborough, he failed without reasonable cause to surrender to custody at Teeside Magistrates’ Court, having been released on bail in criminal proceedings on July 20 2022 at South and West Devon Magistrates Court.
A charge to which he has pleaded guilty it that on August 12 2022 at Middlesborough, he failed without reasonable cause to surrender at Teeside Magistrates’ Court, or as soon after that time as was reasonably practicable, having been released on bail in criminal proceedings on July 12 2022 at South and West Devon Magistrates Court.
Furneaux was remanded on unconditional bail to Cleveland Magistrates Court, sitting at Teeside Magistrates Court on September 19 for a case management hearing.
