LEGALITIES concerning a covenant on land off Le Molay-Littry Way, Bovey Tracey, should be known in the next three weeks. Bovey Tracey Town Council received the land from developers of adjoining estates during the 1990s and that was covered by a covenant that it should be used for community purposes. Since then two of the developers have gone out of business and the council has commissioned solicitors to determine if the covenant is still enforceable. In a statement read by the chairman Cllr David Elphick to Monday's recreation, parks and property committee, the council stated that in June it had received an inquiry from Storegap Commercial on behalf of Sainsbury's PLC to open an outlet on town council owned land adjacent to Le Molay-Littry Way.
