‘A FAMILY day of fun and learning’ is how members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are describing their Summer Fete this Saturday.
A spokesperson said: ‘Summer is here And we’re cranking up the heat with our Summer Fete this year.
‘There’ll be plenty of fun for children, with Sumo Suits, Splat the Rat, Cornhole, Face Painting, Stocks for ‘misbehaving little people’, and lots more.
‘With something for all ages, this year’s theme for the adults is Preparedness.
‘To help you feel more prepared to cope with our challenging times, some of our group will share their skills and talents around budgeting, recipes for meals on a budget, growing your own vegetables, food storage, and 72 hour packs.
‘Professionals will teach First Aid, Safety in the Home and provide details about courses available locally, like updating or writing a CV or computer skills and the ‘Flood Awareness Team will be helping us also.
The barbecue will sizzle, and we’ll have a cake competition. Bake your own work of art and bring it along to be judged.
‘Best of all, the event is free. Bring your family and friends and join us for a day of fun and learning at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in the car park off the Penn Inn Roundabout (TQ12 4LA) on Saturday, July 30, from 10am to 3pm.
