A CREATIVE, nature-focused festival is coming to Forde Park this weekend, inviting visitors of all ages to explore the stories and inspiration hidden among the park’s trees.
A part of the ‘If Trees Could Talk’ festival, the Newton Abbot park will host its ‘Tree Treasure Trail’ from 11am to 2pm on Saturday, June 20, encouraging participants to collect a map and wander through the park discovering artistic prompts and outdoor activities along the way.
Organisers say the event is designed to be accessible and pressure-free, with no special skills required, focusing instead on connection with nature and playful exploration.
A fully accessible, bench-based version of the trail will also be available, ensuring visitors who are unable to leave the main paths can still take part.
The event is free to attend, with donations welcomed on behalf of Our Pavilion Café CIC.
Visitors are encouraged to pre-book places to help organisers prepare materials, and picnic boxes from the café can also be reserved in advance.
The event is being organised by Melissa Noble, founder of the Academy of Wide-Hearted Living, who said she is excited to bring the concept to Forde Park after being inspired by connections within the festival network.
She added that the café plays an important role in the community.
The trail is open to individuals, families, and groups, with organisers hoping it will offer a relaxed and inclusive way for people to enjoy the outdoors and engage creatively with nature.
