NEWTON Crisis Aid are on January 6 holding another clothing collection in aid of refugees in need.
In spite of Covid related anxieties volunteers from Newton Crisis Aid, a Devon based charity aimed at helping refugees, will be on hand this coming Thursday to collect donations for the charity’s latest clothing collection drive.
Between 2pm and 4pm on Thursday January 6 volunteers from Newton Crisis Aid will be present at Abbotsbury Church along Waverley Road in Newton Abbot to collect items from donors.
It should be noted that, unlike previous collection efforts at Abbotsbury Church, the drop off point is slightly different.
Goods must be delivered to the old choir vestry which is down the left-hand side of the building.
Items that can be accepted are: seasonally appropriate clothes for men, women and children, boots, shoes and trainers, new underwear and socks, blankets, sleeping bags, waterproofs, items pertaining to hygiene such as toothbrushes, shower gel and razors and last but by no means least double knitting wool.
It is important to mentioned that items should either be new or in as good a condition as is possible.
A spokesperson for Newton Crisis Aid said:
‘Ask yourself the question, would I or a member of my family be happy to wear this item?
‘With that said, we look forward to receiving your donations which are desperately needed especially over the winter months.’
