Pupils at Rydon Primary School, Kingsteignton, have been having great fun learning valuable cycling skills which will help keep them safe on the roads. Children in years five and six have undertaken a series of exercises designed to boost confidence through improved balance and control. Teaching assistants Vicki Horton and Susan Lofty have been leading the sessions, which have proved popular. 'The children love learning new skills and even the nervous cyclists find that their confidence grows,' they said. All the youngsters participating in the scheme receive a goodie bag once they have completed a time trial in which they show off their new-found skills.
