LAUGHTER it seems, really is the best medicine for the coronavirus blues in Newton Abbot as a daily fancy-dress street boogie sweeps the town.

Since last week, residents of Forde Close have donned all manner of outfits for the daily dance.

Organisers hope this latest blues-busting trend catches on.

Josh Glitz, together with Jessica Page Flood and Chelsea White, wanted to send the feeling of isolation packing with their idea for a daily 6pm boogie.

‘We have been thrilled with the turnout,’ said Josh. ‘We had around 30 people take part on one day alone last week.’

At the weekends, the organisers crank it up to 11 and get the whole street dancing to a full PA system.

Josh added: ‘It would be fantastic if other streets in our area, or anywhere for that matter, join in and bring our communities together in these uncertain times.’
