WEDNESDAY was an historic day for Bovey Tracey – quite literally.
To celebrate the granting of a charter to hold markets in the town shopkeepers dressed up in medieval gear.
It was 800 years ago when the Lady of the Manor, Eva de Tracey, was granted the right to hold a weekly market – a rare privilege as only nine others were permitted in Devon back then.
To commemorate the events of AD 1219, the Business for Bovey group organised a day of fun, markets and activities.
