Artist Diana Golledge – who specialises in painting figures in action – was demonstrator at Teignmouth Art Society's first meeting of the year.
Her chosen subject was a picture of three footballers going for the ball.
her audience was amazed by her dynamic use of paint, starting with pastels and overlaying with acrylic – 'the overall effect a startling and vibrant picture full of movement and colour', said a club spokesman.
Next meeting is on January 24, when members test their own skills in painting a figure from a live model.
