Disease and damage see trees get the chop

PROMINENT trees in Kingsteignton have been given the chop after storm damage and signs of decay.

Twenty-three Lombardy Poplars were felled this week at St Michael's C of E Primary School, alongside the busy Newton Road.

The trees were about 50 years old, and 100ft tall. One of them fell during last week's storm and exposed signs of fungal decay.
