The Dartmoor Dodgers' netball team is looking for new and enthusiastic players to join their club, writes Dawn Ellis.

If you are aged 14 plus and enjoy netball, the team would like to hear from you.

'It doesn't matter if you haven't played netball since you left school or you fancy a change from your existing club – all are welcome,' said Dodgers' Denise Smith.

The team meets at the Ashmoor Centre, Ashburton, every Thursday from 8pm-9pm.

'We work on netball skills, tactics and fitness, so it is great if you just want to keep in shape in a fun way,' added Denise.

The  Dodgers will be training until the end of June and will then have a break until September.

They are also currently looking for a sponsor to support the club and help pay for a new kit.

'We are really active and organise social events and fundraisers to raise money for affiliations and a new kit,' said Denise.

'But we really need a sponsor who would be prepared to help fund the club. Obviously, in return, we would advertise their logo when playing matches and out on fundraising events.'

The Dodgers are planning a fundraiser on May 14, where players will be passing a ball from Ashburton – starting at the Ashmoor Centre at 6.30pm – to Buckfastleigh.
