A LAMB was attacked by a stray dog in Ashburton, prompting police to warn owners to keep their pets on leads.

The animal suffered ‘numerous injuries’ during the worrying incident near Cuddyford Bridge on November 26.

A police spokesman urged dog walkers to maintain control of their pets at all times in the countryside.
