TEIGNMOUTH Post readers have been thanked for their 'fantastic response' in helping to trace the owner of a large mastiff dog which savaged a much smaller pet.We reported that Pita, a miniature Yorkshire Terrier, was attacked on the beach, and suffered serious injuries.The owner, Kim Glover, appealed for information about the owner, who left the scene, and this week said he had been traced, thanks to information from readers.The Teignbridge dog warden and police were involved, and the Teignmouth owner agreed to enter into a Restorative Justice Agreement, and reimbursed the veterinary fees.Miss Glover said there was little that could be done by the police when a dog attacked another animal, and has called for the law to be tightened. 'It is due to the fantastic response from your readers that we were able to trace the owner of the dog which attacked ours, and we would like to thank those readers, and also those who came forward as witness to the event,' said Miss Glover.
