THE future of the paddling pool in Sandringham Road, Buckland, Newton Abbot, has come under the microscope.br>The pool – drained in September last year after an E.coli outbreak – has not been refilled.br>Opened in 1995 – the town council put in £26,000 and residents raised £4,000 along with money from Teignbridge Council – it has been popular with families, but there were problems with dog fouling and other contaminants as well as having to be drained seven times after glass was discovered in it.br>Tracey Higgs, of Teignbridge Council, giving a presentation on the site's future to Newton Abbot Town Council Finance and Resources Committee on Wednesday, said 1,600 letters were sent to residents in the area and the district authority had embarked on a series of consultation events.
