Car parking charges in the district could rise by an inflation-busting five per cent next year in a move that would raise £100,000 for Teignbridge Council.
The proposal is intended to help combat the 'ongoing challenges' brought about by the tough economic times and expected reductions in government grants.
Charges for services such as planning could also rise while a shake-up in the authority's top management will attempt to 'significantly reduce' cost.
