TWO big heartedTeignmouth people will be out at sea on Easter Sunday in a bid to raise money for a baby girl who suffers from a very rare bone marrow disease.
Robbie Weatherill and Kim Adams will row the New Quay Inn's seine boat Bar Maid from Brixham to Teignmouth to raise funds for five-month-old Ellie, daughter of local fisherman Richard Kendall.
The disease is attacking Ellie's immune system, and she and her father are in hospital in Bristol, where Mr Kendall is planning to donate his own marrow.
It is only a 70 per cent match, but it is hoped that the operation will improve Ellie's quality of life.
Robbie and Kim will leave Brixham at 11am on Easter Sunday, and should cover the ten miles to Teignmouth by around 4pm.
The trawler Three Sisters, skippered by Aide Viane, will be in attendance as safety boat, sponsored by Lee Hardy of the Old Salty Chandlery in Northumberland Place.
The sponsorship campaign is being organised by Malcolm Mathews, landlord of the New Quay Inn, and details are available at most harbourside pubs.
