A FORMER Chudleigh boy has come up with a ‘live’ but virtual music festival for the Summer Solstice Weekend (June 20 to 21).

Ed, who grew up in the town but is now a student in Exmouth, says: ‘My idea is of having a Live Music Festival called ‘DAYBED’ streaming on the social media platform Instagram, where musicians will perform a 30-minute set during the afternoons and evenings over the Summer Solstice Weekend (2pm to 9pm).

‘With all the social distancing rules, I want people to enjoy “Live Music” in their favourite local venues again.

‘Already, I have released the line-up to the event.

‘The event is in aid of the “Save Our Venues” Campaign run by Music Venue Trust.’

It will be streamed live from Instagram from 2pm on Saturday, June 20.

‘I’m a student from Exmouth who loved going to gigs 24/7, and I’ve realised all these venues I’ve been to, are at risk of being closed down including Exeter Cavern.

‘Therefore, I don’t want people who love music the way I do to experience that.

‘These are people’s companies and lives at the end of the day.’

Among the acts to be featured are Apre, Balcony, Oscar Roche, Reuben James, Dancing on Tables, Alice Pisano, Mathilda Bates (pictured right) and many more.’
