A TRIO of world class experts are holding a series of lectures on shell-shock in Newton Abbot next month.

Dr Tim Nicholson and Professor Edgar Jones from King’s College in London will be heading to Hannahs at Seale-Hayne with Dr Jon Stone from Edinburgh University for the event.

The aim of the event is to educate the public about shell-shock and its related disorders including PTSD, Gulf War syndrome and Functional Neurological Disorder.

Seale-Hayne, now the base for charity Hannahs, was originally an agricultural college but was commandeered as a large military hospital for the treatment and rehabilitation of

shell-shock which was peaking 100 years ago in response to the horrors of the First World War.

The series of lectures – which are free to attend – are taking place in the Great Hall at Seale-Hayne from 7pm until 9pm on May 18.
