EIGHT more youths have been ordered out of Newton Abbot town centre as the police crackdown on anti-social behaviour continues.

‘We will not tolerate anti-social behaviour and will deal robustly with anyone who is causing a nuisance,’ the town’s Neighbourhood Policing Team posted on their Facebook page late last night, Sunday.

The youths ‘have been dispersed from the town centre today for a period of 24 hours, we will not tolerate anti-social behaviour and will deal robustly with anyone who is causing a nuisance.

‘We are working closely with Teignbridge Council to tackle this issue long term and escalate certain individuals through the ASB escalation process.

‘Section 35 of the anti-social behaviour, crime and policing act 2014 requires a person committing or likely to commit anti-social behaviour, crime or disorder to leave an area for up to 48 hours. Failure to comply with a dispersal is a criminal offence and may result in imprisonment and/or a fine.’
