THE Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal in Devon is being launched today at Dartington Hall at 11am.

It will be conducted in the presence of the High Sheriff of Devon Robin Barlow, members of the county RBL, children and residents.

The launch focuses on two recent significant achievements in the county – the film and stage epic War Horse, and the Military Wives' Choir.

An equine presence provides a fitting tribute to the theme of the launch. Aboard her horse, international horse rider Lucinda McAlpine will enter the courtyard and move towards the High Sheriff, to whom she will present a poppy, symbolising the launch.
