Old acquaintances were reunited at an exhibition staged by Kingsteignton History Society on Friday at the URC Hall to commemorate the 140th anniversary of the opening of the former junior school in Sandpath Road.

The old school has a special place in the lives of the pupils who attended the school and for those who did not attend, the exhibition gave them a fascinating insight to an aspect of the town's history.

This week's photograph was taken to the exhibition by Dianne Shears (nee Lentern), who now lives in Brixham. She was a member of the school choir that brought Kingsteignton national recognition at the Festival of Britain in 1951
