A signed Muse ticket from their homecoming gigs will sell on an internet auction site making more than £100 for a Teignbridge charity, just in time for Christmas.

Bidding on eBay ends on the lot today at 10.20pm.

Money raised will go to The Helen Foundation, which was launched in January 2006 as a living memorial to actress Helen Kirk, who died after a road accident on Boxing Day 2005.

It is dedicated to raising money to help young people who love the arts.

The ticket was signed by the trio – Matt Bellamy, Dom Howard and Chris Wolstenholme – when they performed their two sellout concerts on the Den, Teignmouth, in September.

As patrons of The Helen Foundation, they autographed 32 tickets to raise vital cash for the charity.

The tickets were all auctioned off for the gigs. however, one winning bidder gave one ticket back to the charity.

'The ticket was generously returned to us by the American visitor who bought a pair of tickets from the foundation, but actually flew alone from the West Coast (Oregon) to be at the weekend in September as a special treat, leaving her husband looking after the two young children back home,' said Roger Kirk, trustee of The Helen Foundation.

'We are already pretty awestruck by the generosity of the offers so far, on top of the generosity of the young American mum who let us hope to fundraise further with the ticket,' said Mr Kirk, shortly before the auction ended.

'The Muse concerts raised the profile of The Helen Foundation, as well as helping to be the focus for some incredible fundraising and donations from lots of Teignbridge well-wishers both at the time of the event, and in the ensuing weeks.

'We really hope all our supporters – and your readers – have a good Christmas.

'Helen's death at such a time was a terrible tragedy, but we are truly inspired by seeing that there can be a flourishing of talent and enterprise and artistic endeavour among young people in the area.'

The winning bidder will also receive a replica Seaside Rendezvous poster.
