BOVEY Tracey's return to the top flight after a six-year absence went well as they took a winning draw home from Exeter.

South African star Farhaan Behariden top scored with 96 – and would have made a debut ton but for a great catch in the deep by Mike Wilkinson – as Bovey racked up 246-7.

Next best with 35 was Ben Ayres, followed by Chris Bradley on 31. Easily the pick of the bowlers for Exeter, with 4-57 against his former club, was spinner Adam Gribble.

Exeter struggled to make progress against Bovey's spin-dominated attack and, despite an unbeaten 92 by Marshall Hood, ran out of puff at 182-4.
