A well known Teignbridge farmer celebrated a milestone birthday last week.
Heath Dadd, known by most as ‘Farmer Dadd’, celebrated his 100th birthday with family and friends at Bovey Tracey Golf Centre last Saturday.
A resident of Bovet Tracey’s Mulberry House Residential Home, Heath farmed in the Newton Abbot area all his working life - having started at the age of 13 - and many people remember him from agricultural days at Hatherleigh Farm near Bovey Tracey and then the Bradley Barton area of Newton Abbot
Although he’s no longer actively farming he’s always more than happy to be taken for a drive out to keep an expert on the farms.
And as for his longevity Heath puts it down to two simple things: hard work and farming!
