Kingsteignton’s annual Garden Craft and Hobby Fayre has enjoyed its most successful year to date.

The event took place at Oakford Lawn for the second year in a row last Saturday.

Organisers changed the venue last year in order to expand and attract more visitors.

This year saw crowds entertained by Vikings, clowns and a range of different stalls. Crafts were a prominent factor with visits by local artists and potters.

Event chairman Cllr Jill Morris said: ‘My aim was to provide a selection of activities which represent Kingsteignton as a town.

‘I was really pleased that we were able to do this and get such a good reaction from the public.’

Having originally started as a garden and craft show eight years ago, the event is ‘taking time to build’ into a major part of the local calendar.

Cllr Morris added: ‘Lots of hard work went into organisation. As a result the whole thing was a great success.

‘We will meet as a committee in September to begin the discussion about next year.’

It is thought that Oakford Lawn will remain as the venue for 2017.
