Dog walkers are needed to help raise funds for Animals in Distress this Christmas.
The Ipplepen charity is holding a sponsored Christmas fancy dress dog walk around Decoy Country Park in Newton Abbot, on Sunday December 3 at 11am.
Rowana Rowan, of the rescue centre, said: ‘Dig out your Christmas jumpers, Santa hats and reindeer antlers (doggie and human versions) as there’ll also be a best-dressed dog competition too.
‘You choose how many laps of the park you want to walk, and we are asking for a minimum sponsorship of £10 per person. Places are limited so please register your interest by phone or email, and we will send out a sponsorship pack.
‘Many animals will be without a home this Christmas, but you can still make the festive time special for them by supporting us at our events.’
The charity is also holding a Christmas Giving Evening, with carols and winter barbecue, at their centre on Thursday December 7, from 5pm to 8pm
Rowana added: ‘Come and celebrate the joy of the season with us, at this year’s Christmas Giving Evening. This will be a truly festive evening, with lights, carols, a tasty winter barbeque, mince pies and more.
‘Everyone is welcome to come and join in the fun, and to meet the cats, rabbits and guinea pigs at the rescue centre. We really hope you can join us, and please bring some goodies for the animals.’
