THERE were 15 runners in the Portreeve's Challenge, a seven-and-a-half-mile run at Ashburton.
The run, which replaced the event that was called off because of the atrocious weather during the town's carnival week, started and finished at the South Dartmoor Community College.
The circular route took the runners along Place Lane, up Headborough, to Holne Turn, Water Turn, down to the Lavender House Hotel, through to Pridhamsleigh, Chuley Road, St Lawrence Lane, Eastern Road and Balland Lane.
Winner of the event was Richard Carrier, of Bristol.
