A SHALDON holiday park is still clearing up after a £100,000 arson attack in January.

Builders have been working to replace the 10 mobile homes lost in the fire at Coast View Holiday Park, Torquay Road. But progress has been slow and bookings have already been lost at the beginning of the holiday season. Owner Malcolm Collett said: 'We have been open for a few weeks now ahead of Easter, but we are still behind schedule with the building work. 'It has been a nightmare, it has cost us a lot of bookings and inconvenince for people staying here because we have had to move them around,' he said. More than £100,000 damage was caused in the blaze. Mattresses in three chalets were set alight in a row of 10 at the park. Police made forensic tests after the arson, but despite a number of leads, the culprits were never found. 'It is frustrating, and even more so in that it has caused us more inconvenience then we could ever have imagined,' said Mr Collett. But the new three-bedroom accommodation is set to be better than ever before and should be completed by the end of next month.
