DAWLISH and Teignmouth fire crews have been rewarded for their hard work at Dawlish when February's storms wrecked the main line, leaving it hanging in mid-air.
The crews received Chief Fire Officer's Letters of Commendation at the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service awards ceremony on Thursday last week.
And a Teignmouth retired firefighter, who devoted his working life to the service, was also recognised at the ceremony at the service's Exeter headquarters.
