A FOUR-YEAR-OLD girl was rescued by firefighters after getting stuck in play equipment at a park in Ashburton.

The youngster had contrived to get her leg jammed in the railings of a slide at Barnsey Gardens at 4.30pm on Tuesday, March 16.

A fire crew from the town was despatched to release her using small tools.

A fire spokesman said: ‘It was quite easy to get her out. She was in some distress initially - but she was OK afterwards, and unhurt.’
