IT looks as though construction work at the former cattle market site in Ashburton could be held up for at least another four months after the developer was told to cease work or face having to pull it down.
Permission for the 18 flats in Vaelenia Terrace was granted in 2009, on condition that a contaminated land report was submitted to Dartmoor National Park Authority before work started.
Director of planning Stephen Belli said: 'They have jumped the gun and gone ahead without agreeing detailed conditions and because of that we've had to tell them that legally and technically they don't have planning permission.'
