A TALENTED young Teignmouth footballer has been picked to play in the Gothia Junior World Cup in Sweden next year.

Lauryn Proctor, 14, is 'thrilled and honoured' to be selected, and says she is proud to be also representing her home town and Teignmouth Community School.

The defender is in her second year playing for Devon at The School of Excellence, and was chosen by the county to play for the Plymouth Argyle side in the world cup against teams from all over the world.

She is 'excited' at the prospect of appearing before up to 52,000 people, in Gothenburg, in July.
