RIO Bayley was crowned Chudleigh Carnival queen at a special entertainment in the town hall on Saturday.

The 14-year-old Teign School, Kingsteignton, student, has twice been a carnival princess in the past.

She was crowned by Wendy Bishop at the event.

Princesses are Alex Robbins (15), Rachel Bolt (17) and Teri Shotter (12), and the attendant Debbie Gardner (18).

Chudleigh Carnival Week starts on Saturday, July 10, and runs until Sunday July 18, with the highlight, the procession, on Saturday, July 17.
