Caring youngsters at Teignmouth Community College have raised more than £2,000 to help send a fellow student to America for pioneering cancer treatment.Jasmine Flay, 15, suffers from a rare form of the disease and visits a Sheffield hospital for regular treatment. She has had numerous operations but so far there is no medicine in this country that can help her.The hospital has recommended she takes part in a trial in the USA where results are proving encouraging.Jasmine will need three months for the treatment and then return every two months for a year for check-ups.Students raised £2,123 through a range of events on non-uniform day and college principal Tony Gray said he was 'delighted' at the amount.'Jasmine is a delightful and dedicated student who is very popular and a credit to the college,' he sad.
