THE summer's warm weather has presented challenges for gardeners with the number of entries in the annual Kingsteignton in Bloom Garden Competition down according to the organisers.

The high standards, however, presented judge Richard Taylor, of Torbay Council Parks Department, with a difficult task.

Overall garden of the year award went to John and Sandra Ellis, of St Michael's Road, with Cynthia Burns, of Clifford Close, winning the gold award for the best senior citizen's garden.
