DEADLY nitrous oxide canisters have been found discarded in play parks around Kingsteignton.

PCSO Vanessa Pike, of the Kingsteignton Neighbourhood Team, said she has received several reports of empty canisters and balloons in the town, leading them to believe the gas is being inhaled by young residents.

She said: ‘Although the canisters are not illegal to buy the side effects can be deadly if this gas is inhaled.

‘We have our young people’s safety and welfare in mind and we do not want to attend a medical emergency due to someone misusing these canisters.
