ESTHER Amery and Leigh-Anne Crossley have begun their 30-day countdown until they return to the UK.
The duo are continuing their way through Cambodia and have spent most of the week in the provence Mondulkiri, which translates as the land where the hills meet.
The girls also cycled along a road formerly known as death highway but it has recently been resurfaced meaning they are one of the first to cycle along it.
Talking about the past week, Ms Amery said: ‘One problem with the new road was there was nowhere within 50km to top up our water supply.
‘Luckily a road surface team kindly topped up our water supply and some other kind souls offered us a ride to our destination, which we kindly declined.’
The past week hasn’t been as productive as usual thanks to an illness as Ms Amery explains: ‘A week of diverse scenery and more adorable Cambodian children has unfortunately ended with a bout of food poisoning for me.
‘I have been sick now for a couple of days and we are hoping that the energy will soon return so we can continue the journey as we head towards our next big check-in, Siemens Riep.’

So far the girls have passed their £2,000 target by £336.
