INTERNATIONAL glassmakers, Teign Valley Glass, has been blasted into the 21st century with a major refurbishment worth around £140,000.
The leading glassmakers, based in Bovey Tracey’s House of Marbles, received the facelift to update and modernise the facilities.
The firm are constantly improving and expanding on its pieces of work and takes inspiration from its surroundings including Dartmoor and local beaches.
Talking about the range of products, manager Richard Glass said: ‘It is an eclectic mix of form and functionality which is held together by the theme of fluidity.
‘Titles are suggestive but we hope those who see our work will find their own interpretations.’
Richard, talking about his own styles, said: ‘I aim to make glass that is elegant and not over-worked, with designs often born from my observations of hot glass, capturing the molten quality when cold.’
The glassworks, formed in Teignmouth in 1981, has an extensive and impressive client list including New York’s Museum of Art and Design.
Teign Valley started off making handmade marbles for the House of Marbles but it quickly expanded, producing a variety of glassware.
