Teignmouth Community College's dream of building a £2.5 million sports hall is set to come true after the project was granted planning permission. The decision was taken on Wednesday by Devon County Council's development management committee sitting at County Hall. Ward member and school governor Cllr James McMurray urged his colleagues to back the project. He told them: 'All I would say is I wholeheartedly support this application. 'Teignmouth is one of only two schools in Devon not to have a dedicated sports centre. 'I hope members of this committee will support it.' In addition to the hall being used by students it will be open to the public outside school hours.
