PCSO Vanessa Pike has been recognised by Kingsteignton Town Council for her contribution to the community.
On Wednesday she was presented with a Good Citizenship Award by mayor Cllr Keith Howard.
The gesture was made in response to her sustained efforts to provide youngsters in the town with a skate and BMX park.
Her two-and-a-half-year campaign paid dividends last month with the opening of the £53,000 facility in Clifford Park.
Handing over the certificate, Cllr Howard said: 'I'm sure you know how much you are appreciated in this community and by this council.'
