THE Planning Inspectorate has decided not to allow an appeal by MVV Environment Ltd against Devon County Council's decision to refuse it permission for an ash processing facility at Whitecleave Quarry, Buckfastleigh.
And the town's mayor, Cllr Denise Rudgeley - told the news by this website – was hugely delighted at the outcome.
Paul Carey, managing director of MVV, of Plymouth, said: We are disappointed with this outcome and will be reviewing the inspector's reasons for refusal before deciding whether there are grounds to challenge the decision.
'We will also be looking to find other sites where we can meet our obligations to recycle the incinerator bottom ash and use it in local markets.'
The decision comes after a four-week public hearing into the company's plans which heard a wealth of expert information from objectors.
