THE total grants of £165,000 for this financial year for Green Business Grant funding is part of a £1.6m allocation from the Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) which runs until March 2025 and will support five projects, including green business grants.
Companies can apply for grants ranging from £3,000-£25,000 to pay for improvements such as LED lighting, low energy heating, heat pumps, double/triple glazed windows and doors or thermal insulations.
Executive Member for Business, Economy and Tourism, Cllr Nina Jeffries urged business to apply for the funding without delay. She said: ‘This is a tremendous opportunity for businesses to apply for funding to help them to improve their workplaces and make a real difference in contributing to a sustainable economy.
‘Our advice would be to apply now and not delay till next year when the funding may not be available.”
“Funding is also available to charities and not for profit organisations so we would urge them to apply if they can spend the money before the end of the financial year.’
Applications for grant funding - which will cover 80per cent of the cost for businesses and 100 per cent for charities and not for profit organisations and be paid in arrears must be made via teignbridge.gov.uk/greenbusinessgrant.
Although not guaranteed, the district authority hopes that more green business grant funding will be available next year and if so, unsuccessful applicants who meet the criteria will be considered in the next financial year.
